The Route
WHERE AM I HEADING?
The Leamington Spa Half Marathon offers a scenic and predominantly flat route that showcases the very best of Royal Leamington Spa and the surrounding Warwickshire countryside.
The race starts in the heart of Leamington Spa, close to the iconic Pump Room Gardens, where runners are quickly guided onto wide, well-managed roads. The opening miles wind through the town’s elegant Regency streets, supported by enthusiastic spectators and a lively race atmosphere.
Leaving the town centre, the course heads out onto quieter rural roads, passing through the Warwickshire villages of Radford Semele, Hunningham, Weston on Weatherly, Cubbington and Offchurch. This section of the course provides a welcome contrast to the urban start, with open countryside views, gentle undulations, and long straight stretches that are ideal for maintaining a steady pace.
As runners move between the villages, the route remains traffic-free and clearly marshalled, allowing participants to focus fully on their run while enjoying the calm, scenic surroundings. The supportive local communities add to the experience, with pockets of encouragement along the route.
In the later stages of the race, the course loops back towards Leamington Spa, passing green spaces and residential areas as runners re-enter the town. The final miles benefit from renewed crowd support, helping to carry runners towards the finish.
The race concludes close to the start area, delivering a memorable finish in the centre of Royal Leamington Spa. Combining historic town streets with classic Warwickshire villages and countryside, the Leamington Spa Half Marathon route offers an enjoyable and rewarding challenge for runners of all abilities.
